I was under the assumption, that I would learn historical aspects of India's geography, and geography not only about the Gangetic plain, but about other landscapes, rivers, coasts, etc. I have several issues with the book, few I lay below -įirstly, the name is little misleading.

Hence, I read this book to see what Sanyal wants the children of today should know about their civilization. Sanjeev Sanyal falls in to that category. As a reader, who is neither interested nor capable of a thorough investigation of history, I believe I need to know other side of the stories, especially the writers I believe are worth reading. Well, if History is written always by winners, it is also re-written by winners NOW as well. With the winds and regime changing, we see a lot of intellectuals from the right side of the isle coming fore and present an alternative narrative, which they believe is re-writing the wrongs of the past.
